Golovkin Promoter Promises Carl Froch New Nose Job If He Fights GGG

Golovkin promoter Tom Loeffler promises Carl Froch new nose job if the British fighter comes out of retirement to take on his charge.

Coming into Golovkin’s latest fight this weekend with Daniel Jacobs the topic of a certain Carl Froch has cropped up again.

Froch has been retired now for quite some time since he knocked out George Groves a few years back at Wembley Stadium.

It’s hard to see him coming out of retirement in truth. Unless a shed load of cash was put in front of his nose that is.

Speaking of noses, it is quite well known that Carl Froch got a ‘nose job’ when he retired to fix up some damage from the pounding it took during his boxing career.

This hasn’t gone unnoticed by Golovkin promoter Tom Loeffler – who jokingly made reference to it this week in an interview.

Speaking to Kugan Cassius of IFL TV in New York, Loeffler said:

“I told Eddie (Hearn) we would put in that agreement that if there was a problem with his nose that we would pay for a touch up (laughs). That would be part of the deal. Straight off the top (of Golovkin’s purse). Look, we have respect for Carl Froch for what he’s accomplished. But unfortunately it looks like his (attendance) record is going to be broken at Wembley Stadium in Wladimir (Klitschko) vs Anthony Joshua.”

Subtle jibes from Loeffler there. Bating Froch almost.

Realistically though, if Froch did come out of retirement and Golovkin did move up to fight him at super-middleweight, what a fight would be.

Carnage if you will.

It’s debatable if Froch could still even make 168lbs though. For the full interview check it out right here on IFL TV YouTube:
