Joe Rogan’s Outlandish Theory On How Conor McGregor Can Beat Mayweather

Not many think Conor McGregor can beat Mayweather in a boxing match. That much is clear. However UFC commentator and podcast mogul Joe Rogan has made a case for how in theory he could.

The stars would need to seriously align and the term ‘lucky punch’ springs to mind.

McGregor has never had a professional boxing match and to take on one of the sport’s greatest ever talents is an almost insane ask.

But it’s for entertainment and financial reasons more than anything that this will eventually happen one suspects.

Both guys know they’ll make a lot of money.

Speaking on his podcast on how Conor McGregor can beat Mayweather in boxing rules – Rogan gave this theory:

“He (McGregor) would need everything to line up. Mayweather would have to dismiss him as a threat. He’d have to not train hard enough. He’d have to not seriously consider the possibility that if Conor connects on him and knocks him out. Then Conor would have to do some rough housing. He’d have to hold him in the clinch. He’d have to hold him and hit him. He’d have to try to get off as many shots and bully him around and wear him out. It’s a possibility. He’s a much bigger man. But if you compare the two of them frame-wise, if they ever do it and they are standing right at each other, looking down at each other, doing an eye to eye – you’re going to go oh s***!”

Unlikely that many will agree with the above, in all fairness. First off lets see if this thing will actually happen.

All indications are that it will at some point.

This report last night of the T-Mobile Arena being reserved for the fight on June 10th in Vegas adds further credence to the notion that in fact, this combat sports carnival will take place in 2017.
