Tyson Fury Comeback To Boxing Runs Into Early Obstacles Already

A Tyson Fury comeback has stormed the boxing news landscape over the last 24 hours – following the ex-champion’s return to Twitter and public interaction online after a period away from the limelight.

Fury is a man who knows how to sell and hype a fight, and a comeback it would appear too.

We’ve seen mixed opinions from sports and boxing fans already since he confirmed that he is coming back to the ring this May.

Now he’s met another challenge, with the British Boxing Board of Control standing in the way of him receiving his professional boxing license again:

Since mentioning the above earlier today, Fury has also told fans that he will now instead look to fight under the BUI jurisdiction (Boxing Union of Ireland).

The organization is responsible for the up keep of professional boxing and the issuing of professional boxing licenses in Ireland.

Fury comes from Irish heritage with his mother been from the country, and he’s also boxed for Ireland before in the amateur ranks.

It’s clear he is intent on a comeback and will do so by whatever means necessary – with or without the British Boxing Board of Control it would seem.

A Fury fight against one of the other well known heavyweights in world boxing no doubt could sell out the likes of the Aviva Stadium in Dublin.

Or possibly even sell a fair few tickets in the country’s largest stadium (Croke Park) with an attendance capacity of 82,000 plus.
