This past weekend a shocking story was put out involving Deontay Wilder and Breazeale been involved in a brawl in a hotel lobby following the weekend’s boxing in Alabama.
Wilder headlined the card and defended his WBC heavyweight title, while heavyweight contender Dominic Breazeale appeared in a thrilling contest on the undercard of the event.
But the fighting was not quite done in the ring it seems.
Breazeale later released a statement (highlighted below) that claimed Wilder and a mob of people attacked him and his team backstage afterwards at the hotel – right in front of his kids and wife.
Now the folks at TMZ Sports YouTube have released a video of the chaotic scenes that went on:
It is understood that a brother of Deontay Wilder was involved in the above, although it is hard to make out what is going on exactly and who is involved due to the mad nature of the scenes.
It doesn’t look good for boxing though, to see one of the sport’s heavyweight champions in the midst of something like this.
Particularly at a time the sport is returning to popularity at the moment, where no doubt TV networks looking to air boxing might take a look at the above and think twice.
