Watson’s career was tragically cut short following a ferocious battle with Chris Eubank in 1990.

It resulted in a near death experience for him.

However, after spending 40 days in a coma following a blood clot on the brain – Watson in true warrior form recovered to be able to live a good quality of life since.

He has been an inspiration to many ever since.

Tonight shocking news has emerged where The Guardian have reported that Watson and a friend were dragged out of a car following a substance sprayed in their eyes, in what is understood to have been an attempted car theft.

It has been reported that Watson is in stable condition but was thought to be very banged up from the incident.

It is also believed that the suspects fled the scene in another vehicle and authorities are currently trying to track them down.

Watson held the Commonwealth title during his time as a professional boxer and challenged for a version of the world title three times.
