Hughie Fury Trainer Rates Joseph Parker and His Team

Hughie Fury trainer and father Peter Fury speaks on the WBO heavyweight champion and the people around him ahead of his son’s first heavyweight title fight.

Peter Fury likes to call things as they are, whether that be from a critical standpoint or praise one.

His 22 year old son Hughie is in the biggest fight of his life on April 1st.

He travels to Auckland in New Zealand to challenge for the WBO heavyweight championship of the world against hometown man Joseph Parker.

It’s a big challenge his father and trainer Peter has admitted, but one they are relishing and fully believe they can win.

On what he thinks of Parker and his team, Peter told BoxNation:

“I think it’s going to be a very, very hard, difficult fight. I rate Parker. I rate the team he’s got. I think they are very good professionals. I think whatever happens in this fight both fighters can come again, because their both young. So we’re in for an interesting fight. I can’t say what’s going to happen in this fight.”

It should be an intriguing fight between two very mobile and young heavyweight fighters.

Both undefeated and in may ways, representing part of the new heavyweight era as two young lions coming through.

Parker as WBO champion won his title in a closely fought battle last time out against American Andy Ruiz Jr, and, more than likely, he’ll be involved in another tough fight here.
