IBF 135lbs Champ Robert Easter Jr Next Fight?
There are certainly plenty of options for the Robert Easter Jr next fight after the undefeated talent chalked in another impressive win yet again.
Robert Easter Jr is quickly making a name for himself in the boxing business not just in the US, but around the world.
This past Friday on a Premier Boxing Champions event he headlined in Ohio – he showed his class once again.
Easter Jr (19-0-14KO) put on display showcasing both his power, patience and boxing ability when he defeated the very game Luis Cruz by unanimous decision.
Easter Jr dropped Cruz three times towards the very end of the fight before getting the decision.
It was the first successful defence of the IBF lightweight strap that he captured initially in September 2016, when he beat Richard Commey by split decision.
Attention now turns to what could be the Robert Easter Jr next fight?
Well, he’s in a division pool full of sharks at the moment.
Lets take a quick look at some of the other lightweight champions, and indeed top tier talent.
In most people’s eyes the proven division number one at this point in time is WBA (Super) champion Jorge Linares.
Like Easter Jr he’s a very technically refined operator who packs a punch.
But you also have a perhaps a near equally dangerous match up for Easter Jr in WBC champion Mikey Garcia.
A Mexican-American with some of the most blistering hand speed you’ll see anywhere.
Lest we not forget of course current WBO champion Terry Flanagan too from the UK too.
Other top contenders include the UK’s Anthony Crolla and undefeated Puerto Rican Felix Verdejo.
Any of the above names would be excellent potential matches for Robert Easter Jr next up.
Expect the 26 year old to be kept relatively active this year too, allowing for some of the above to possibly come to fruition.
