David Haye Training Camp for Tony Bellew Includes Shooting Basketball Hoops

The David Haye training camp for his upcoming fight doesn’t appear to be too much of a stressful one for the ‘Hayemaker’.

It’s been well documented that he doesn’t believe his next opponent, WBC cruiserweight champion of the world Tony Bellew, brings anything whatsoever to the table that worries him.

He’s been quoted as saying that he could knock Bellew out with:

“A jab.”

He doesn’t believe he has the skill nor athletic ability to touch him and the latest David Haye training camp Instagram post seems to be in keeping with that philosophy:

Some have questioned Haye’s motivation ahead of the fight on March 4th at London’s 02 Arena, given his new promotional venture with Richard Schaefer too.

But having followed the career of Haye right the way through the pro ranks, it’s not too difficult for me to ascertain what he’s trying to do here.

People underestimate the Londoner’s psychological warfare game and ability to ‘psych’ opponents out.

He knows the Bellew is training is hard as ever for this fight, and knows this type of message will get under the skin of the passionate Liverpool native.

A man who’s never short on passion in the first place.

This could play into Haye’s hands from a counter punching perspective on fight night.

If Bellew is so angry that he just comes forward and loses his game plan, intent on simply swinging bombs on a man who he doesn’t like to put it mildly, then that’s probably what Haye wants.

Haye has always been a counter puncher and this scenario would play into his hands.

Whether Bellew bites or not is another question however.
