He took the loss to Leo Santa Cruz as humble as any, the sign of a true champion. Options are still plentiful for him next up. Lets go through what Carl Frampton may do for his next fight.
5- Rematch with Scott Quigg 32-1-2 (24KOS)
Although the first fight lacked the entertainment that Frampton has produced with his two excellent fights with Leo Santa Cruz, there would still be a demand to see a rematch with Scott Quigg.
Many feel Quigg could have produced a higher tempo which is what he did in the rounds that he did win.
Quigg has almost appeared desperate at times for a rematch and it would certainly appeal to UK boxing fans.
Quigg now seems to have recovered from a broken jaw which was sustained against Frampton too.
4- Oscar Valdez 21-0 (19KOS)
A fight with the hard hitting 26 year old Mexican Valdez would be a mouth-watering clash for fans.
As well as an opportunity for Frampton to win another world title,
the timing may be right to fight the hard hitting WBO champion as
Valdez has not fought the calibre of opponents that Frampton has of yet.
He may lack the experience but there is no doubting that Valdez has
buckets of talent.
With Santa Cruz appealing to Mexican fans, Frampton is certainly now known to the fans there too.
A match up against their very own Oscar Valdez would surely bring fireworks.
3- Gary Russell Jr 27-1 (16KOS)
‘The faster fighter in boxing’ (according to some) would definitely present a difficult challenge for Frampton.

Frampton who has often spoke about wanting the entertaining fights for the fans would definitely be pleasing them with this match up.
WBC champion Gary Russell Jr has not fought since April 2016.
He has only suffered a sole defeat against the very talented Vasyl
Lomachenko and gave the skillful Ukrainian one of his tougher assignments.

and would love to do it in Belfast.
2- Lee Selby 23-1 (8KOS)
A fight with Lee Selby seems inevitable for ‘The Jackal’.
The plan may have been dampened over the weekend though with Selby’s fight getting cancelled, no fault of his own mind you.
But there is still obvious demand for this match up.
The fight would be between two of most skilled boxers from Western Europe and with Selby willing to travel to Belfast, it could be a huge summer showdown in a football stadium.
There is respect between the two camps and one would imagine it would be financially rewarding, as well as a legacy defining fight.
- Leo Santa Cruz 32-1-1 (18KOS)
After two brilliant fights with Leo Santa Cruz, there is a lot of demand for a trilogy.
Speaking after the second fight Frampton clearly stated he respected Leo but wanted the rematch and wants it in Belfast.
Leo seemed happy to oblige and that is the hope for boxing fans.
Frampton will be keen to avenge his only career defeat and regain his belt and what better place to do so than at home in Belfast.
