Lomachenko Next Fight Opponent Confirmed With Tentative Date

Vasyl Lomachenko next fight opponent lined up for his first fight of 2017 – with a tentative date being looked at.

Many will put Vasyl Lomachenko up there on many Fighter of the Year lists for 2016, given his stellar run of wins that included two dominant stoppages over Roman Martinez and Nicholas Walters.

His skills and finishing instincts were on full display in both fights.

2017 is shaping up to be a big one for the Olympic Gold medallist and two-weight world champion already, with the man himself confirming the following on Facebook for his first foe of the year in 2017:

Lomachenko next fight in 2017

Orlando Salido is the only man to hand Lomachenko a defeat in his professional career thus far (7-1-5KO) which came via split decision back in 2014.

Ukraine native Lomachenko will be keen to put the record straight after such a strong 2016 campaign however.

Salido only fought once in 2016, which resulted in a draw against Francisco Vargas in June for the WBC super-featherweight title in Carson, California.

Since beating Lomachenko a couple of years ago Salido has also lost and drawn with Roman Martinez – a man who Lomachenko dealt with in dominant fashion here in 2016.

An official announcement from Lomachenko’s promoters is expected to come in January regarding his next fight.
