Watch: Anthony Joshua Working On Movement For His 18 Stone Frame

Anthony Joshua working on trying to move like a lightweight despite his gigantic frame.

While Anthony Joshua due to his colossal build will never be able to move like Muhammad Ali or other light footed heavyweights of the past, he is making a conscious effort to improve on his footwork and speed of foot.

Many early on in Joshua’s career pointed to his physique been too muscular for that of a boxer needed to go 12 championship rounds.

As traditionally that heavily muscular type of build has never been successful in boxing due to stamina issues that have occurred for fighters who put on too much muscle.

One example of this that springs to mind was one of Britain’s most loved fighters, Frank Bruno, who had a brilliant career but in certain fights his stamina was an issue because of his heavily muscular frame.

Joshua to his credit has not experienced this yet though and seems to be working on all the right things so far to guard against this from ever becoming an issue:

Fairly impressive movement for a big man there. In all fairness.

His next fight against American Eric Molina on December 10th is a bout that he is definitely expected to win in good fashion but should he get past Molina, the footwork drills he’s working on above could definitely be needed when he steps up in opposition next April in an expected fight with Wladimir Klitschko.
