Guillermo Rigondeaux News – Rigo Blasts Nicholas Walters For Quitting

Published On November 28, 2016 | By Niall Doran | Boxing News, Boxing Views and Opinion

In latest Guillermo Rigondeaux news the Cuban boxing great has come out swinging verbally at Nicholas Walters following his fight with Vasyl Lomachenko.

Vasyl Lomachenko essentially beat Walters into submission (video highlights available here) at the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas, where Nicholas Walters’ team and himself decided to pull out of the fight.

After the fight it was confirmed that their motivation for their decision was due to the inactivity Nicholas Walters had in the lead up to the bout. They wanted to save their man for another day.

Many boxing fans and indeed a certain well known boxer believe Walters quit in the ring himself however.

One such boxer was none other than super-bantamweight king Guillermo Rigondeaux who was less than impressed with what he saw.

Although he did not name Walters directly in this Instagram post, the timing of it straight after the Lomachenko vs Walters fight on Saturday night says enough:

Guillermo Rigondeaux News – Rigo Blasts Walters

I may be boring, but one thing I am not is a quitter. Never spit on the air or toward someone because it can turn and land on your face.

No doubt Walters will have a thing or two to say about the above from Rigo.

As regards other Guillermo Rigondeaux latest news other than the above, unfortunately at this time there is nothing of note to report on for ‘El Chacal’.

The Cuban boxer continues to find it difficult to secure notable fights with his last outing (and only one of 2016 at the time of this article) coming back in July in Wales against James Dickens who he stopped early on in the fight via a broken jaw.
