Golovkin on Froch: GGG Blasts Cobra After Questioning His Credibility

Gennady Golovkin on Froch here doesn’t hold back – following comments from the former super-middleweight champion about ‘GGG’ on social media.

Originally when the whole Golovkin-Froch story came up again I was sceptical to say the least. Froch went out with a bang in a massive fight last time out against George Groves at Wembley stadium a couple of years back.

I just can’t see why he’d come out of retirement for someone as dangerous as Golovkin. All be it a man operating at a weight below the one that Froch campaigned at (168lbs).

But after this interview from Golovkin’s promoter Tom Loeffler and the more and more I think about it, there more I believe it isn’t the craziest idea in the world.

Froch is probably thinking to himself that he could beat Golovkin handily judging by comments like this in the media in recent months.

He’s even gone as far as to question the credibility of Golovkin. In a slight change of character from the usually quiet and reserved Gennady Golovkin, he has hit back at Carl Froch on social media.

Golovkin on Froch:

Hey you! @Carl_Froch don’t judge who is credible or not. You are another clown who talks too much without stepping up to actually do things

— Gennady Golovkin (@GGGBoxing) November 16, 2016

There’s no doubting that Golovkin would like the fight with Froch. He’d fight anybody in truth.

At the same time, he did point out to not just Froch’s former promoter but his own promoter to get their acts together and make the fight or else pipe down in the media:

Hey gentlemen @EddieHearn @TomLoeffler1 without any actual progress please stop rehashing the possibility of this fight over and over

It’s not often you’d see a top boxer be as candid publicly towards his own promoter via his official verified Twitter account like that.

The plot thickens in the renewed Golovkin-Froch saga.
