Klitschko Injured – Joshua Fight Now Looking Like March or April 2017

Wladimir Klitschko injured – Joshua fight needs to be put on hold.

The boxing world has watched on for weeks over talks surrounding a potential Wladimir Klitschko and Anthony Joshua fight.

At least we now finally know the fight won’t be happening on December 10th as planned initially, after it emerged that Klitschko has a minor injury (not clear exactly what yet) that will stop him competing on that date.

However Joshua promoter Eddie Hearn told Sky Sports News that the fight will happen most likely in March or April of next year.

Incredibly, still no word has come yet from the WBA (World Boxing Association) on whether or not the fight will have one of their titles on the line. A key point for team Klitschko for the bout to take place.

This should be known this week but after multiple delays already I wouldn’t hold my breath just yet.

What we now know though is that Anthony Joshua will need a new opponent for December 10th and at the moment at least it appears like Liverpool heavyweight David Price is the leading contender.

While Price may not be everyone’s number one choice and is a let down in comparison to Klitschko, there is no denying that Price would be a dangerous test for Joshua given his devastating power.

If the Klitschko fight does happen early next year it’s one to look forward to and here’s how our own James Sullivan believes Joshua needs to box if he does face Wladimir in early 2017.
