Bernard Hopkins Next Fight To Come Before End Of 2016

51 year old Bernard Hopkins next fight to happen before the year is out he has confirmed.

Bernard Hopkins continues to defy the age process as he continues to box professionally and train to a world class level.

In many ways he’s a once off athlete in this regard, the likes of whom we may never see again in our time.

An example of how looking after one’s self with modern sports science and diet developments can achieve astonishing results.

He turns 52 next January but incredibly, he’ll box again before his birthday before this year is out. On his next fight Hopkins told IFL TV:

“I will be fighting before the year is out. LA – I’d love to fight here. It will be against a name that is respectful. Because to go in there with someone that’s not a threat and don’t have a name has not been me and it won’t be me this late in the game, but I will fight before the year is out. People will know, it will get announced – they will be excited and I’ll be excited.”

Hopkins’ last fight came against Sergey Kovalev in November 2014 (via HBO YouTube):

From the way Hopkins was speaking, I’m not sure if it will be his last fight either – as many suspected it would be over the last year or so.

It also appears he is lining up someone very credible as an opponent who is known in world boxing, which will be interesting to see to say the least.

At this advantaged stage of his boxing career it is still possible through the remarkable IQ, skills, ring craft and experience Hopkins has built up, that he could still potentially beat some respectable light-heavyweights and cruiserweights out there near the top of the rankings.

Many think that his next fight will take place at cruiserweight but making the light-heavyweight limit (175lbs) certainly wouldn’t be beyond this extraordinary athlete one more time.
