Wladimir Klitschko Responds To News Of Tyson Fury Pull Out

Wladimir Klitschko has responded to the news that Tyson Fury had to pull out of their upcoming fight due to medical grounds.

Wladimir Klitschko has given his thoughts on the matter but it is expected that a full statement on Tuesday from team Fury will come to fully explain the current medical situation of lineal heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, as to why he is not fit to box at present against Klitschko.

Former long-time heavyweight champion of the world Wladimir Klitschko has had this to say online today about the situation:

“Disappointed that Fury cancelled the fight for a second time. I am in top shape and would have loved to retrieve my world championship belts”

No doubt disappointment as at a peak for Klitschko and his team too, after months of negotiations and waiting for the rematch following injury to Fury previously.

There is concerns within the boxing world at the moment that Fury is suffering from very serious mental health issues at the moment, which if true, goes to show that no one is immune from bad times in life – even a heavyweight champion.

As for Klitschko, talks have already turned to a potential showdown with IBF heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua before 2016 is out, after Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn said he has been in contact with team Klitschko about a potential bout already.

A possible get together of the two would represent an intriguing twist in the sweet science heavyweight landscape that not many would have seen coming.

But as boxing can often have a funny way of conjuring up, opportunity and chance can come knocking out of nowhere as randomly and abruptly as a knockout heavyweight punch landing inside the ring can sometimes.

It would be a big task for Joshua and if they accepted a fight with a man as experienced and seemingly re-motivated as Klitschko at this early point in the Britain’s career, a fair bit of respect should be afforded.

In many ways it could represent the old lion vs the young lion and the changing (or not) or the torch in the heavyweight division, following Tyson Fury’s epic achievement last year when he shook up the world by defeating Klitschko.

If Wlad were to lose comprehensively to Joshua, it would be hard to imagine him fighting on at this point.

Then again, if he were to win, it adds another big name back into the top of the heavyweight boxing mix over the next 12-18 months.
