Fight week is in full swing once again ahead of the Liam Smith vs Canelo Alvarez WBO 154lbs title showdown in Cowboys Stadium in Texas this weekend.

Liam Smith vs Canelo Alvarez represents one of those fights that has all the potential to stylistically result in fireworks, two guys who just love to come forward and stand toe to toe a lot of the time.

Both guys are competent boxers in their own right, too.

It’s perhaps not the fight that a lot of fans wanted initially, hoping that we would have seen Canelo stepping in the ring with Golovkin instead but alas, it wasn’t meant to be (just yet).

But we still have a great fight on our hands this weekend, perhaps not as notable, granted, but one nonetheless that could create a highly entertaining battle.

Liam Smith might be an unknown quantity to a lot of US fans but make no mistake, he’s not a world champion by for no reason.

He’s a man that will not be intimidated by a grand occasion such as this weekend’s and will know that a win against Canelo could launch him on the American boxing scene.

Canelo knows this too of course, and by all accounts has taken training as serious as ever following his devastating knockout of Amir Khan back in May.

After a recent interesting segment released on Liam Smith in the build-up to this one focusing around his family and background, the folks at HBO (credit) boxing have brought out another compelling view via their YouTube channel.

It charts some of the behind the scenes build-up in both men’s respective camps ahead of Saturday night:
