Watch: Gennady Golovkin Knockout Streak (22KO) Full Video

This weekend the Gennady Golovkin knockout streak is expected to have a good chance of continuing, but he’ll need to do it on his travels in the UK this Saturday.

A boxing ring is a boxing ring though, as they say, but Sheffield’s Kell Brook will be looking to at least put a dent into the current Gennady Golovkin knockout streak, which is at present two straight on the trot, originating all the way back to November 2008 against Belarus’ Malik Dziarra.

Since then ‘GGG’ has gone on to extend his overall record to 35-0 (32KO), giving him the highest knockout win percentage in middleweight boxing history.

Currently he holds the IBO, WBA (Super), WBC and IBF world titles at the 160lbs weight limit, with finding opponents to step into the ring with him in recent years seemingly been his biggest challenge to date.

This weekend Kell Brook represents a highly skilled fighter for Golovkin, who will definitely have a robust gameplan developed with his trainer Dominic Ingle, but time will tell if he can execute any plan long enough to stay in the ring for a full twelve rounds with such a powerful puncher as Golovkin.

Skills are not something ‘GGG’ are short of either, helping him on route to compiling this near eight year knockout streak to date:
