Billy Joe Saunders Offers Eubank Rematch

WBO middleweight champion Billy Joe Saunders offers Eubank senior a rematch for his son as both fighters look to secure a big fight before the end of 2016.

Recently Billy Joe Saunders declined a fight with Gabriel Rosado on the upcoming Canelo Alvarez vs Liam Smith WBO junior-middleweight bill in Texas next month.

Not long before that, Chris Eubank Jr lost out on the chance to fight Gennady Golovkin due to prolonged negotiation problems – that then saw IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook accept the opportunity to fight ‘GGG’ in the UK next month.

It appears the two bitter rivals Saunders and Eubank Jr, are now once again on each other’s radar because of this, as both men look to secure a big fight.

It has been mooted that talks are ongoing currently for Saunders to face Canelo in December should the Mexican beat Liam Smith, with Eubank Jr’s next fight been reported next to be against Tommy Langford.

Neither have been made official yet however and a Saunders-Eubank Jr rematch would certainly sell in the UK after the pair’s razor close and entertaining battle shared back in 2014, where Saunders emerged the victor via a split decision in London.

The trash talk between Saunders and Eubank Jr’s father this week on Twitter has been at it’s highest for some time, with some heated exchanges from Billy Joe in particular.

The WBO champion then offered the fight on the following terms after it appeared that Eubank Sr verbally accepted to the notion of his son facing Saunders again:
