Former World Champion Scott Harrison Back In UK Prison

Former world champion Scott Harrison has returned to Britain this week to serve out the remainder of a jail sentence originating in Spain.

The Scottish boxing great will serve the remainder of a four year sentence stemming from an assault charge in Spain back in British jail.

It is understood that Harrison will serve the remainder of the sentence in his homeland of Scotland in Glasgow’s Barlinnie Prison.

38 year old Harrison was extradited last year following the Spanish authorities claims that he had left the country in 2012 before the sentence was due to actually commence.

Harrison had attempted a comeback in the ring in recent years (in between his trouble with the law) when he returned in 2013 to fight for the WBO European lightweight title against Liam Walsh.

He was defeated that night by Smith via a unanimous points decision.

At this stage of his life with more years to serve in jail, it is unlikely we will see Harrison (27-3-2-15KO) back in a boxing ring again due to the time that will have passed with him been out of the ring and his advanced age by the time he will get out of prison.

There is no denying however that as far as Scottish boxers go, he will be remembered as one of the best. A doggedly determined, tough, relentless and ferocious world champion in his day – that thrilled many a crowd.
