The colorful American has been in typically entertaining voice this week ahead of his latest bout this weekend on the undercard of David Haye's show at London's O2 Arena. 44 year old American Briggs (59-6-1-52KO) will take on Argentinian Emilio Ezequiel Zarate in a ten round bout this weekend, in a fight he is expected to win in truth, but it…
Shannon Briggs Hounds David Haye Ringside in New York
The ‘Lets go champ’ movement was in the USA at the weekend, as the head proprietor of the catch phrase – Shannon Briggs hounds David Haye who was in attendance at the Leo Santa Cruz vs Carl Frampton fight.
Shannon Briggs is hell bent on getting David Haye into the ring, to the point where he was seen at the weekend actually giving chase to Haye inside the Barclays Center arena, with Haye opting to pretty much ignore the now regular taunts that have been coming his way lately.
The pursuit of Haye by Briggs started earlier in the year when he appeared on one of Haye’s undercards in the UK, with a supposed promise of a fight against Haye later this year in the waiting.
Haye has been mooted to next return to the ring sometime in September in what is expected to again be a fight at London’s 02 Arena.
Logically, a Briggs fight for Haye would likely make sense for him as it would sell, and Haye has also been adamant that he is using this year to get back in the swing of things and up the rankings again as he rebuilds his career following what was a three and a half year layoff prior to his return.
If Shannon Briggs has his way, expect to see this one later in the year:
