Kell Brook: I’m Going To Bring Speed Up To Middleweight Division

Kell Brook and Gennady Golovkin met today at the UK leg of their press tour ahead of their upcoming middleweight title bout on September 10th at London’s O2 Arena.

The fight sold out in under 11 minutes of tickets going on sale and has divided opinion in the boxing community for a number of reasons.

IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook will be moving up two entire weight divisions to challenge one the most feared fighters in world boxing in Gennady Golovkin.

Speaking on the challenge that is ahead Brook said today:

“It’s the biggest fight in world boxing. It’s the fight that makes me so excited to be part of the game. I’m the best welterweight on the planet. Nobody seems to want to fight me and triple G is there at middleweight, you know, so I think it’s the best fighting the best.”

He added:

“I’m going to bring the speed up to the middleweight division and we are already getting big numbers from the power, so I’m going to be bringing big power as well. I’m ready, I’m ready for this fight. This is what I’m doing in the game. To be the best you’ve got to beat the best. It doesn’t get any bigger than triple G for me.”

The fight will be shown in the UK as a Sky Box Office pay per view event and will be broadcast in the USA live on HBO.
