Carl Frampton Barry McGuigan Short Documentary Ahead of Santa Cruz

The Carl Frampton Barry McGuigan boxing duo has been a highly successful one since it started in the professional ranks a number of years back, but it will be put to it’s biggest test yet this weekend against WBA featherweight champion Leo Santa Cruz.

The Carl Frampton Barry McGuigan relationship has been a close one since it began, with McGuigan taking ‘The Jackal’ into his extended family essentially and surrounding his entire team by the McGuigan family – whether it be from a training, promotional or managerial perspective.

It’s been a winning formula thus far for Belfast’s leading fighting son, who has built up a pro record that now reads 22-0-14KO since his professional tenure in the ring began back in 2009 in his first fight against Sandor Szinavel at the Olympia in Liverpool, UK.

It’s been a career that has seen significant wins in recent years against the likes of Scott Quigg and Kiko Martinez but tomorrow night’s bout with Santa Cruz will likely be the biggest jump up in class Frampton has undertaken in yet.

But then again, the same could be said for Mexican Santa Cruz.

Ahead of this weekend’s big night of boxing in New York (which will be shown on BoxNation in the UK and Ireland) the folks at Showtime have released a really interesting short feature video on the Carl Frampton Barry McGuigan relationship, how it got started and more:
