Following his loss to WBC Heavyweight Champion Deontay Wilder, Chris Arreola picks the American to beat Anthony Joshua at the moment – but doesn’t think he’d win against Tyson Fury however.
Arreola fought valiantly as he always does in last weekend’s defeat to Deontay Wilder, but perhaps father time just caught up with him as he met one of the new generation of the heavyweight division coming through in what in truth, was a fight of completely different levels.
This defeat did leave Deontay Wilder with some significant injuries mind you, testament to the toughness of Arreola and his ability to absorb punishment.
In terms of Arreola’s career and where he goes from here, after the fight the Mexican-American was insistent that he would not be retiring and that in particular, a grudge match with Eric Molina is something that he very much wants.
The heavyweight division at the top level is now more wide open than ever before, with the likes of Wilder, Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua the three new champions leading the way for this new era of heavyweight boxing it would seem.
Everyone in the boxing world is already debating how the above three men will match up with one another one they do eventually collide in the ring, most probably in 2017.
