Rigondeaux breaks Dickens jaw in freak punch that causes early night in Cardiff. The first round was a quiet affair, as it looked like Rigondeaux was taking a look at his Liverpool foe - trying to work him out. Rigondeaux Calls Out Frampton and Quigg
Guillermo ‘El Chacal’ Rigondeaux’s trip to the UK was a successful one this weekend, all be it an anticlimactic one.
Rigondeaux improved his record last night to 17-0 (11KO) after breaking the jaw of James ‘Jazza’ Dickens early on in their fight in Cardiff, forcing the contest to be waived off after the end of the second round due to the injury sustained by Dickens.
Replays showed that it was indeed a beautiful left hand shot from southpaw Rigondeaux that caused the broken jaw, landing bang on the button, over the top.
It seems like the career of Guillermo Rigondeaux as a professional has been one constant frustration after another, besides the time he beat Nonito Donaire of course.
Other than that, the Cuban has had to overcome relentless disappointment through being avoided by fighters, visa issues, and the list goes on and on.
Speaking after the fight last night in Wales, Rigondeaux took to Twitter to ask promoter Frank Warren to make a fight for him with either Carl Frampton or Scott Quigg:

Warren mentioned after the fight that a Rigondeaux appearance in the UK could be very possible again for later this year.
Although a fight with Frampton at least seems very unlikely, given the fact Frampton will campaign at a different weight entirely at the end of the month when he challenges featherweight champion Leo Santa Cruz.
