Tommy Langford Beats Down Laine in 7 To Set Up Eubank Fight

Tommy Langford moved towards a big domestic UK clash with Chris Euank Jr tonight.

Langford started the fight well behind the jab, also landing some decent left hand-right hand combinations in the first round.

The second round continued in similar fashion and it was clear right from the get go, who was the better fighter in the ring.

By the third round the fight was becoming a one sided beating behind intelligent boxing from Langford, who was choosing his moments to move in and out well.

His body shots were really starting to hurt Timo Laine in the third, mixing up his shots well in between action that in truth saw Laine trying to survive.

The fourth round saw a little bit of life return to Laine, who came out swinging, but Langford reasserted his dominance for the majority of the round – backing Laine up who was absorbing a lot of punishment without returning fire.

More of the same continued in the mid rounds and Langford eventually forced the stoppage in the 7th after an unanswered barrage forced the referee to waive off the fight.

Tommy Langford improved his record to 17-0 (6KO) and now sets up a big fight for the British title with Chris Eubank Jr after the British Boxing Board of Control ordered purse bids for the fight next up.
