Manny Pacquiao Comeback Confirmed

Despite the ‘Pacman’ saying after his last fight against Tim Bradley that it would be his last one, he’s now confirmed the news that many thought and is returning to the ring in late 2016.

The ‘Pacman’ (58-6-2-38KO) last fought in April of this year when he comprehensively beat old foe Timothy Bradley via a unanimous decision at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas in their third fight.

Despite being 37 years of age, Pacquiao looked very impressive in the fight. That’s why it was surprising to some that afterwards he said it would be his final fight.

However, many thought that we’d see Pacquiao back in the ring at least one more time after such a sharp display and Dan Rafael of ESPN has confirmed that his promoter Bob Arum told him that Pacquiao should be back in action in October or November, but will need to train around his new, more serious political role in the Senate in his native Philippines.

Thoughts will turn next to who the possible opponent could be.

Rumours in the past were apparently that Adrien Broner would be that man, although it seems as things stand – that he might have priced himself out.

Canelo Alvarez although is a much bigger man has also been touted but perhaps the size would just be too much.

A fight with Keith Thurman at welterweight would also be likely a big seller and from a style point of view, a terrific match up.
