Adonis Stevenson Next Fight Announced, Here’s What We Know About Thomas Williams Jr

Adonis Stevenson next fight foe announced as Thomas Williams Jr with ‘Superman’ looking to make it fifteen wins in a row.

Stevenson (27-1-22KO), recognized as one of the biggest punchers in the sport of boxing, has looked exceptional in recent years through his dynamite fists but a unification fight with fellow division knockout artist Sergey Kovalev is the fight that fans desperately crave.

Alas, they won’t be getting it next up, with Haitian born Stevenson’s next adversary announced as American Thomas Williams Jr (20-1-14KO).

The Maryland native won’t be a known quantity to a lot of fans and will almost certainly enter the fight as a heavy underdog.

He does come into the fight in good form however, having stopped the Dominican Republic’s Edwin Rodriguez and Cuba’s Umberto Savigne inside the distance in his last two outings.

Williams Jr will enjoy a slight height and reach advantage over the champion, as well as a 10 year youth advantage.

He also comes from a decent amateur pedigree and with ten of his knockout wins in the professional ranks ending in less than two rounds, he’ll probably look to try to take Stevenson out early as his best chance of winning the fight.

Rankings-wise, Williams Jr is currently ranked number 9 with the WBC (World Boxing Council).

For those not familiar with him here’s highlights of his last win over Rodriguez (hat tip to the Premier Boxing Champions YouTube account for the upload):
