The day that not only boxing fans have been dreading, indeed people around the world, is upon us. The day where we must bid a final farewell to one of the human race’s greatest ever men. A man who although is now gone, will never be forgotten, with his life being celebrated today.
There are already thousands of people lining the streets in Muhammad Ali’s hometown of Louisville, Kentucky in the United States ahead of his public funeral procession and memorial service.
The send off is one that can only be described as befitting of a legend, a cultural icon whom we perhaps might never see the likes of again.
Mike Tyson has flown in from Las Vegas at the eleventh hour to join the likes of former heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis, actor Will Smith and members of Muhammad’s family to act as chief pallbearers later on where they will carry Muhammad’s coffin.
The funeral service itself is not expected to commence until approximately 19:00 BST but already there is a live stream that has started ahead of the procession. Hat tip to the folks at Fox 10 Phoenix:
