Golovkin Laughs At Canelo For Fighting Smaller Guys

Negotiations are underway for the Golovkin vs Canelo super-fight and both teams appear to be keeping things under wraps at the moment. Golovkin himself however, has being quite vocal about Canelo.

Canelo dismantled blown up welterweight Amir Khan last weekend in spectacular fashion, where he produced one of the most brutal knockouts in recent professional boxing memory.

Rival and fellow division belt holder Gennady Golovkin who is currently in negotiations with his Mexican counterpart, wasn’t impressed, and hasn’t been for that matter for a while, pertaining to how he feels Canelo has fought perceived smaller opponents like Cotto, Kirkland and Mayweather (although he lost comprehensively) in the past.

The issue seems to lay in the fact that although Canelo is WBC middleweight champion and of considerable size and strength, has not campaigned fully at the 160lbs limit just yet, opting instead to fight catchweight bouts in recent years.

Golovkin made his feelings known this week with the folks at Hoop Jab:
