The British boxer is looking to take an extended break before making any decision on who his next opponent will be following his devastating knockout defeat to Canelo Alvarez.
Khan has made the point that he feels he is a much bigger name in the sport of boxing than IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook and more than anything, it came across today that he doesn’t appear to be willing to give his UK rival an opportunity to fight him following years of talking about him in the media.
While Khan certainly is a bigger name in world boxing, the fact remains that a fight with Kell Brook for the Sheffield man’s IBF world welterweight title would be a massive draw in the UK – likely warranting a stadium of some kind t host it.
Khan will now need to regroup and go back to the drawing board after his courageous move up to middleweight against Canelo, where a return to welterweight seems to be the most sensible option for the Bolton man.
After returning to the UK today from his big fight in Vegas this past weekend, Khan touched on the Brook subject above with Sky Sports News:
