Exclusive: Eddie Hearn Says Interest From The Far and Middle East in Anthony Joshua
IBF Heavyweight Champion Anthony Joshua’s star power and brand continues to grow at a rapid rate his promoter Eddie Hearn has told Boxing News and Views.
This week the first formal press conference between Anthony Joshua and his next opponent, American Dominic Breazeale, took place in London and Boxing News and Views’ Tim Redigolo had a chance to catch up with promoter Eddie Hearn to discuss Joshua’s career progression thus far.
Since winning the title, Joshua’s name has been pitted with numerous heavyweights around the globe, perhaps most notably with lineal heavyweight champion and fellow UK rival Tyson Fury.
His next fight against Breazeale is a voluntary defence but if he were to come through it, a massive unification fight with Fury (should he beat Wladimir Klitschko), or even a mandatory defense against New Zealand’s Joseph Parker could be on the cards for next November.
Hearn spoke on the decision making process behind selecting Breazeale as the next opponent, interest in Joshua from other countries around the world, Tyson Fury and more:
