Katie Taylor Loses For The First Time In 5 Years

Irish female boxing icon Katie Taylor has recorded a loss in the boxing ring today, in a defeat that no one saw coming.


The female boxer is regarded as one of the greatest women fighters to ever put on a pair of gloves but today, for the first time in over five years, she lost a fight.

It was only the 8th loss of a remarkable career that has seen her record 165 wins overall so far, and her first loss in the ring without her father Peter in the corner.

The loss came in a matchup that would have qualified the defending Olympic champion for the upcoming Rio Olympics.

The defeat came at the hands of an Azerbaijani fighter by the surname of Alekeseeva, with the following scorecards:
