Anthony Joshua became IBF heavyweight champion of the world in sensational fashion at the O2 Arena in London.

Anthony Joshua became the ninth British born heavyweight champion in history with his win tonight.

The Englishman took the center of the ring when the opening bell sounded, in an initial cautious first few moments of the first round, before he landed some decent right hands on Martin before the round ended.

Joshua tagged Martin again in the second, this time with the left hand. This was to be the precursor for something big however, as Joshua nailed Martin with a big right hand, dropping the champion.

He followed up with another big right hand that dropped Martin straight away again, leaving the referee no choice but to wave off the fight with Martin in no position to continue.

Anthony Joshua’s capture of the IBF heavyweight title saw him also improve his record to 16-0 (16KO) and he now will move on to undeniably big things in his pro career.

A new heavyweight star is born in boxing.
