Adrien Broner was recently victorious over English super-lightweight Ashley Thephane when he stopped him inside the distance, however Floyd Mayweather was quick to point out some errors the outspoken Broner made on the night.

After the fight, Broner was quick to call out Mayweather for a match of their own, although Mayweather’s hearty laugh in reply to the call out perhaps spoke volumes on the reality of such a bout ever taking place.

The two have been at loggerheads in the media recently, with Mayweather not impressed how Broner has conducted himself outside of the ring.

Speaking to Ben Thompson of Fight Hype, Mayweather says spotted flaws in the Broner game in his win over Theophane (while still been slightly complimentary):

“I was pleased with Adrien’s performance, seen a lot of mistakes. Flat footed, depending on nothing but a wide hook and we could go on and on. But the main thing is he got the victory and that’s good.”

It is unlikely a fight with the two will ever take place given Mayweather’s retirement and even if he were to comeback to the sport, another stint at welterweight for Broner (where Mayweather usually campaigns at) might not be wise against someone of the caliber of Mayweather, given previous losses Broner suffered to the likes of Marcos Maidana and Shawn Porter at 147lbs.
