Callum Smith Spectacularly Blasts Out Mohoumadi In 1
Is Callum Smith world class? Tonight’s first round blast out of a man who had never been stopped and previously took world champion James DeGale the distance, would certainly prove to most people that he is.
Both men came out of the blocks firing, with Frenchman Mohoumadi pressing the action only to be quickly countered by Smith.
After some back and forth exchanges, Liverpool’s Callum Smith landed a nice body shot which opened up Hadillah Mohoumadi and Smith then proceeded to back his foe onto the ropes.
That was the beginning of the end for Mohoumadi, as Smith poured on the heavy artillery, landing cleanly and picking his shots nicely – with some really hurtful shots sinking in.
This left the referee no choice but to wave off the fight and saw Smith capture the European title and improve his record to 19-0-14KO.
There’s no doubt that this 25 year old super-middleweight will be knocking on the doors of a world title, sooner rather than later.
He is now the number one contender for the WBC 168lbs title currently held by Badou Jack.
