Adrien Broner vs Ashley Theophane – Has Broner Taken It Serious At All?

Adrien ‘The Problem’ Broner, a once highly touted future boxing star, appears to be in a consistent state of decline within his boxing career at the moment – despite his considerable talent.

Bad publicity, outside the ring legal problems and indeed in the ring problems, have all be prevalent in the Cincinnati man’s career in recent years, but Broner missing weight yesterday for tonight’s light-welterweight (now non-title fight for him) bout with Ashley Theophane, seems to have really cheesed off boxing fans yet again.

Perhaps it is the final straw for a lot of fight fans, who have grown tired of Broner’s antics in and outside the sport.

Broner weighed in at 140.4lbs yesterday over the official 140lbs limit ahead of tonight’s latest Premier Boxing Champions installment in Washington, D.C.

Subsequently, Broner has been forced to vacate his WBA title, which will now only be on the line for Englishman Theophane.

With losses to both Marcos Maidana and Shawn Porter in recent years, coupled with a recent arrest warrant been issued for Broner, it’s difficult to say if his mind will be on the job at all tonight.

If it is though, he’s still a huge threat in the division, but you’d also have to ask yourself how hard has he taken training for the fight given the fact he couldn’t make weight?

All shall be revealed tonight, as they say.

It would be a pity to see this talented young fighter fall even further from grace, as when he has been on form inside the squared circle in the past, he can produce explosive, entertaining fights – all be they a long time ago now it would seem.
