It may have taken only 121 seconds of the first round for the man from Tír Conaill of Co.Donegal, Ireland to register his ninth KO victory in ten professional outings, but it was the years of hard work, sparring, training, dedication and undeniable talent that has got Jason Quigley (10-0-9KO) to this crossover point in his fledgling career.

Indeed, it will be the same attributes that the 24 year old Irishman will look to harness in the coming months and years when taking his career to the next level.
Last Friday night Jason Quigley extended his unbeaten run, taking his record into double figures without a blemish at the Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, California against Freddy Lopez of Mexico.
It was his first 8 round pro bout and Quigley made short order of his opponent, dropping the unfortunate Lopez twice with spiteful body shots, resulting in the referee Eddie Hernandez’s timely intervention in the very first round.
As far back as February, Golden Boy Promotions Vice President Eric Gomez had hinted at the idea of Quigley appearing on the Canelo-Khan middleweight title undercard, on May 7th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
This has now been confirmed with an opponent to be announced shortly.

Talking to Jason Quigley himself after last weekend’s fight, Boxing News and Views asked him – at what level do you see yourself fighting by 2017?
“I think now it’s time for me step up and really make my mark in the middleweight division and climb up that ladder. It’s time to let all the other fighters in the top rankings know of me and that I’m coming and I am on there heels.”
And no better stage for Quigley to showcase his talent than on the Canelo-Khan pay per view card in May.
As our chat concluded, the ambitious Donegal man also talked to us about another Californian-based fighter that he looks up to, both style-wise in the ring and how he conducts himself outside of it.
This fighter was American Andre Ward and clearly, Quigley has idea’s of emulating the unbeaten Oakland fighter by saying to us:
“Andre’s style and approach inside and outside the ring has influenced me massively. I can relate to a lot of things he does and why he is a class act and an idol to any young athlete.”
Quigley at only 24, most definitely displays a high level of self-confidence and talent that has led many inside the boxing industry to confidentiality tip him as a future world champion.
