The long awaited clash between these two talented American welterweights had to be postponed recently, after an injury to champion Keith Thurman emerged following a motorcycle accident.
The fight for the WBA world welterweight title was slated to happen very recently until the injury was disclosed, with challenger Porter instead opting to take an open exhibition match at his gym to keep busy while Thurman recovers.
ESPN‘s Dan Rafael confirmed on Twitter this weekend that there is a strong possibility that the fight could now take place at the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn, New York, on the new date currently aimed for on June 25th:
Nothing has been officially announced as of yet however but there is no doubt that when this fight does finally happen, wherever it takes place, fans will likely be in for a treat.
