“I’m no underdog” claims Brandon Ogilvie
Whilst recent boxing reports may have swayed the boxing public to favour Darragh ‘Super’ Foley in this great domestic match-up this Saturday between Foley (8-1-0), and ‘Brilliant’ Brandon Ogilvie (14-1-0), Ogilvie states in a recent interview, “I’m no underdog”.
Ogilvie, who is ranked inside the WBA top-10 and currently holds the WBA Oceania lightweight title, which he will be defending this Saturday has said:
“I hear Foley has been talking alot of s**t which I’m not too worried about, it’s water off a duck’s back. If anything he’s putting a lot of pressure on himself. I keep focused on my training camp and what I’m doing, and that’s all that matters to me.”
Ogilvie also had a few things to say when asked of a past sparring session between the two here in Perth. He added:
“Foley seems to think the sparring was 50-50, but from what I remember it was 100% my way. He got frustrated because he couldn’t get to me, and started head butting me.”
Foley, who is supremely confident after a winning streak and a first round stoppage of Miles Zalewski en route to claim an Australian title recently has not promoted this fight quietly, claiming he will:
“Take him to school.”
On paper, it is Ogilvie who is the more experienced fighter, and he also tells us he comes from better amateur stock too. Having accumulated two gold medals at the amateur national titles, and one silver medal, Ogilvie Is calmly confident in this Saturdays fight and what the future holds for him and his team.
