Guildford boxing prospect, Thomas Kindon (7-0) will contest for the British Challenge super-bantamweight belt on April 1st at Tolworth Recreation Centre in Surrey on a Hunt Promotions show.

The unbeaten 21-year-old talent goes up against Welshman, Darren ‘The Punisher’ Pryce (0-9-2) on April Fool’s Day over eight three-minute rounds.
Pryce has yet to have his hand raised in the pro’s and his last loss came in July 2015 to none other than Thomas Kindon at the O2 Academy in Bournemouth, pulling out in the fourth and final round citing a shoulder injury.
Kindon, who trains at Guildford City Gym with trainer Johnny Edwards and father Kazy, said of his former victim and forthcoming challenger:
“I think he’ll present a new challenge this time, I know he’s had a new trainer. It’ll definitely give me more confidence, having beaten him before but not gonna’ take it lightly because he could come back better and stronger.”
Following a brief respite, Pryce, 30-years-old from Newbridge, is now looking to make a statement in 2016 under new trainer, Richie Garner, and the forthcoming fight with Kindon provides the perfect opportunity to do so.
Garner, a BBBofC licensed coach, puts Darren and older brother Bradley through their paces in his Welsh gymnasium.
The more successful sibling, Bradley ‘Sugar Sweet’ Pryce, is a former Commonwealth super-welterweight champion, defending the honours on seven occasions over three years and is now aiming to become a two-weight Welsh Area champion on March 11th.
Known as the ‘Pocket Rocket’ Thomas Kindon gets the home advantage and will be extra confident going into the rematch already being one-nil up over his ring rival: The Surrey star said:
“I think he’ll start strongly because I took time to warm up in our last fight. He could come out straight for it but that will be his mistake, but I’m not going in there all guns blazing.”
A former six-time national amateur champion, Kindon made it seven wins from seven fights when defeating experienced Estonian boxer, Sergey Tasimov (10-52-4) on points over six rounds, live on Channel 5 on December 5th at Carshalton’s Westcroft Leisure Centre.
The ‘Pocket Rocket’ had to adapt to overcome the Northern European veteran on his television debut, who was a tough contender that recently held unbeaten prospect, Ramzy Nassa (6-0-1) to a draw at the Magna Centre in Rotherham a couple of months prior.
Kindon took all six rounds on the Hennessy Sports show aired on national TV, the contest scored at 60-54 by referee, Ian John-Lewis.
Kindon’s eighth professional contest will also be his first fight for a belt and first time stepping up to eight rounds.
Also on the bill is former Southern Area titlist, Tony Owen (16-4-1) from nearby Carshalton in what will be his first fight back following a 10-month hiatus.
The packed undercard features three other unbeaten prospects in Joe Hayes (5-01), Ramesh Ahmadi (4-0), and Eli Green (6-0).
