Christina “Lightning” McMahon will travel to Josue Neri Santos gym in Ciudad Juarez Mexico for her third WBC World Title fight on March 12th 2016. This will be Christina’s third World Title fight in less than a year.

Christina’s opponent will be the defending WBC Super Flyweight World Champion Zulina “Loba” Munoz who will be hoping to make her eighth defence since she won the title in 2012. Zulina is the most accomplished of WBC champions, with a career record of 45-1-2, 27 KO’s.

Christina is the current WBC Interim Bantamweight World Champion since May 2016 when Christina went to Zambia and defeated the unbeaten Catherine Phiri to win the WBC interim bantamweight title. Phiri has since travelled to Mexico and beat Yazmin Rivas to win the WBC female Bantamweight title in January 2016.

Christina’s preparation has gone well and she will travel to Mexico City with her husband/coach/manager Frick McMahon on 2nd of March for media commitments and then onto Ciudad Juarez on 4th of March. Christina is delighted to finally get a fight at her preferred weight “52.1Kg” for the first time in her Professional boxing Career:

“I’ve always wanted to fight the best in the World and test myself at this level.”

Munoz is an very experienced opponent and the number 1 ranked Super Flyweight in the World so the stage is set for a great fight and Christina is determined she can cause an upset and take the title back to Monaghan.

Munoz has said:

“Christina is certainly a dangerous challenger. But I’m not worried, because I’m totally confident in what I do, how I prepare and what I’ve got.”

The fight will be broadcast live in Mexico and Christina’s Monaghan agent,DBSM will endeavour to put high performance environment around Christina and encourage local businesses to get involved for sponsorship and they are inviting the people of Ireland to help do that by going to Christina’s face book page, Christina Marks Mc Mahon and follow the links or by contacting Declan Brennan in DBSM centre of excellence and contributing what you can.
