It Looks Like Bernard Hopkins Is Taking A Very Tough Fight For Final Bout
Speculation has been rampant in the recent week over who Bernard Hopkins’ final opponent could be. In true B-Hop fashion, it appears he is looking to finish his career in the way he started it and how he made his name, by fighting the best.
Bernard Hopkins (55-7-2-32KO) at the remarkable age of 51, has reportedly tabled an offer for feared light-heavyweight division WBC champion Adonis Stevenson (27-1-0-22KO) to take him on.
For those who have followed the career of Hopkins, his bravery will come as no surprise, but a possible fight with someone as hard punching as ‘Superman’ will undoubtedly leave ‘The Alien’ as a considerable underdog.
But that’s not the first time he’s been an underdog, far from it. Hopkins has scalped favourites and younger fighters on a number of occasions in his illustrious career.
Some names that spring to mind in recent years would include the likes of Jean Pascal, Tavoris Cloud and Kelly Pavlik and he lost a razor close decision to Joe Calzaghe, which some believe should have went the Philadelphia man’s way.
Matthew Boulay reported the news on Twitter:
It will continue Hopkins’ vein of consistently trying to take on the best opposition that has been available to him in a now multi-decade career that he has accumulated within the sport of boxing.
