Bob Arum Says Lomachenko vs Walters Is Pretty Much Made

Vasyl Lomachenko vs Nicholas Walters has long been mooted as an excellent potential clash in the featherweight division, but it now seems to be close to becoming a reality.

WBO champion Vasyl Lomachenko (5-1-3KO) and WBA 126lbs titlist Nicholas Walters (26-0-1-21KO) are on a unification collision course this year according to latest reports.

Speaking with Fight Hype, Top Rank boxing promoter Bob Arum has said this week that the fight is virtually nearly there and over the line:

“Yeah the fight’s made. I’m just looking for a network to televise it.”

This will come as music to the ears of hardcore boxing fans who have long wanted to see a bout between Jamaican Walters and Ukraine native Lomachenko.

Decorated amateur standout Lomachenko last fought in November when he KO’d Romulo Koasicha at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, while Walters’ last outing in the ring came back in December in Verona, New York, when his bout with New Jersey’s Jason Sousa was ruled a majority draw.
