Super-welterweight prospect, Lloyd ‘Lightning Bolt’ Ellett’s (18-1) next opponent for February 12th has been confirmed as Slovakian, Andrej Moravek (2-4-1).

The 28-year-old Sussex boxer will tackle the international opponent over six three-minute rounds at the Metropole Hotel in Brighton.
The travelling opponent is used to hitting the road, competing in five different countries during his seven professional contests, only suffering defeats to unbeaten prospects.
The super-welterweight’s two victories came against debutants in France and Slovakia last year on points. Ellett commented on his preparation for the 20th contest of his four-year-long professional career:
“Training has been going very well and I’ve been sparring again after the cut healed up.”
Ellett’s previous bout in December 2015 saw him defeat rival, Faheem Khan (7-7-2) for a second time in his career, outpointing the 33-year-old southpaw from Devon comfortably at 60-55.
However, the final round of the rematch saw Ellett receive a nasty gash above the right eye caused by a clash of heads that resulted in a total of nine stitches to close the wound post-fight for the victor. Ellett explained.
“The cut has healed up nicely and it’s been ok in sparring. I sparred Adam Dingsdale for six rounds, I hadn’t sparred since before my last fight because of the cut. The last few weeks I’ve been training really hard and I’ve been in the gym since before Christmas so I’m nice and sharp.”
He added:
“Been doing a lot of pad work and just need a few more spars to get my timing back up to where it needs to be and I’m ready. All I need now are a couple of weeks of sharpening up the tools.”
A student of the talent-packed iBox Gym in Bromley, also home to WBO European welterweight champion Bradley Skeete, Lewis Pettitt, and Southern Area titlists, Darryll Williams and Johnny Garton, the ‘Lightning Bolt’ is put through his paces by top trainers Alan Smith and Eddie Lamm.
A three-time Masters champion, Ellett recently relocated from Brighton to Brixton to be closer to the South London gymnasium. Since switching from the coast to the city, Ellett has also made changes in the division he campaigns in, he clarified:
“My weight will probably come in the same as last time at about 10st 11lbs which is in-between welter and light-middle. I don’t know what weight to challenge at yet. “I’m still testing the waters but I feel like I can fight at either weight depending on where the opportunities are.”
The former England amateur representative admits to already eyeing his next move:
“I want to be out real soon after this fight is out of the way, I won’t have any time out the gym so Saturday and Sunday off then straight back in. My manager, Scott Welch and promoter, Mickey Helliet both wanted me to fight to get another win under my belt to start challenging for major titles. I’d like to either fight again quickly or fight for a belt in the next few months, whether it’s Southern Area, English or another decent title.”
