Danny Garcia vs Roberto Guerrero’s WBC Welterweight title fight was the first time a boxing match was shown on the Fox Network in the States in the prime time slot (8pm – 10pm) since 1998, a further positive indication of boxing’s returning popularity in the public eye.

The event improved by almost 15% on the Premier Boxing Champions’ last event on prime time in the US (Omar Figueroa vs Antonio DeMarco on Dec 12th 2015) that failed to get over the 2 million viewer mark at the time.

Garcia vs Guerrero pulled in 2.25 million viewers according to preliminary results so far. Here’s how the boxing stacked up against other American sports on Saturday night:
