Carl Frampton Lands MBE Award In New Year’s Honours List

Belfast’s Carl ‘The Jackal’ Frampton has been honoured for his services to the sport of boxing in this year’s New Year’s honours list.


The Northern Irish man was the sole boxer in this year’s prestigious list, that will formally take place next week.

The IBF super bantamweight champion is yet to taste defeat as a professional boxer, in a career that has been heavily guided and steered by the famous McGuigan boxing family, both from a training perspective in the ring, and a business one outside of it.

The Tiger’s Bay native spoke of his pride at the news this week on Twitter, as did his manager and mentor Barry McGuigan:
