The World Boxing Council have today issued a very interesting update in relation to a highly coveted potential showdown between their full and interim middleweight titlists.


There’s a few interesting bits included, but overall, it’s a fairly positive step in the right direction to this ultra juicy 160lbs clash finally becoming a reality for eager fight fans next year:

The parties involved, the head of the WBC and Gennady Golovkin and Canelo Alvarez’ handlers, were also all pictured together sporting some sort of an agreement on paper to signify the announcement:

This is without doubt, the most clear move in the right direction towards this fight happening so far.

It will be interesting to see who either man goes for in their voluntary, and overall, how this one plays out in the coming weeks and months ahead.
