In a slight break from our normal pure boxing coverage, we just had to share this remarkable left hand knockout that rocked the fighting world. An exemplary example of the sweet science, a perfectly timed straight left hand counter shot.

Irishman Conor McGregor shook the world with a remarkably fast knockout of renowned Brazilian fighter Jose Aldo be become the UFC featherweight champion in Las Vegas.

McGregor is a character who has taken the world by storm with his personality, predictions and fight performances.

A former high level boxer as an amateur and someone who still does some of his training with professional boxers in Dublin’s renowned Celtic Warrior gym, he put his pugilistic skills on display for the world to see with the fastest knockout in his organisation’s history.

The two fighters jostled for some early position and were bouncing on the balls of their feet in the opening seconds, when Aldo appeared to lunge in and over extend with an attempted right hand, leaving a split second opening for McGrgegor to throw an incredibly fast straight left hand down the pipe to take the former champion out cold.
