Kindon talks to BNAV ahead of Hennessy Sports TV show this Saturday

Super-bantamweight prospect, Thomas Kindon (6-0) enters into his seventh pro bout on December 5th at Carshalton’s Westcroft Leisure Centre on a Hennessy Sports show, to be televised live on Channel 5.
The 20-year-old Surrey boxer goes up against the experienced Estonian, Sergey Tasimov (10-51-4) who recently held unbeaten super-bantamweight prospect, Ramzy Nassa (6-0-1) to a draw in October this year.
The Leeds-born super-bantamweight tackles the veteran on the Channel 5 show titled, ‘Destiny’, promoted by World heavyweight champion Tyson Fury’s manager, Mick Hennessy.
The six-time national amateur champion has raced to six fights unbeaten since making his pro bow in June 2014, scalping Francis Croes (1-28) on his debut, Anwar Alfadli (2-44-4), Dmitrijs Gutmans (2-1), Sergejs Logins (7-2-1), Darren Pryce (0-8-2), and Mirsad Ahmeti (2-5) along the way, respectively.
Boxing News & Views caught up with the 5ft 4” tall ‘Pocket Rocket’ at the weigh in for the show:
How have preparations gone for this fight?
“All good! I’ve trained hard and my weight is bang on. I’ve had good sparring for this fight, been sparring with two-time Southern Area champion, Ian Bailey.”
How does it feel to be boxing on TV for the first time in your career?
“Yeah, it’s good and I’m looking forward to it. I’d like to make a statement as it could make a lot of difference to me in my career. It’s a big step up and definitely should be good.”
Six fights and six wins in the first 18 months of your career – you must be happy with that?
“Yeah, I’m enjoying it, I thought that I would have had less fights by now which not many boxers can say. My last fight on November 7th was meant to be the last one of this year but my trainer [John Edwards] spoke to Mick Hennessy and they wanted me on the show.”
He added:
“There’s no point in rushing, I’ve got plenty of time so it’s going good. I’m young, still only 20-years-old and ranked around tenth in Britain.”
What will winning this fight do for your career?
“It can do a lot for my career, I don’t know what exactly but it’s an opportunity to take. It’s gonna’ be good whatever happens, perhaps Mick Hennessy could sign me? It’s all up and no down, so nothing to lose and all to win.”
Without looking past your opponent, what’s your plans for the next six months?
“I don’t know yet but I definitely want a title next year. It’s down to my trainers to decide but whatever comes up, I’ll take.”
